CBTE CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF ISSF WORLD CUP RIO DE JANEIRO RIFLE / PISTOL 2023

For the second consecutive year and over eight days, the ISSF World Cup Rio de Janeiro Rifle / Pistol brought together some of the best athletes in world sports shooting, including Olympic medalists, world champions and those classified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In total there were 323 athletes representing 43 countries from three continents: America, Asia and Europe. The success of the competition was achieved thanks to the planning and professionalism of the Organizing Committee, which took care of every detail, from the unloading of weapons upon arrival and departure of the athletes, to transportation, food and accommodation.

The president of the Brazilian Shooting Sport Confederation (CBTE), the South American Shooting Confederation (CST) and the World Cup Organizing Committee, Jodson Edington, highlights the exchange opportunity for athletes, coaches, managers and referees. And it also highlights the excellent work carried out by the Brazilian and international arbitration team at the event.

The director makes a point of thanking the National Secretariat for High Performance Sports of the Ministry of Sports, Marta Sobral, for the presence; the COB Vice President, Marco La Porta; the Director of High Performance Sports at COB, Ney Wilson Perera; the Executive Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Department of Sport and Leisure of Rio de Janeiro, Anna Laura Valente Secco; the president of ISSF, Luciano Rossi, the entity’s Secretary General, Willi Grill; and the Commander of the Vila Militar Sports Detachment, Colonel Da Rosa.

“Their presence gave us the opportunity to once again showcase our technical capacity and the physical structure of the Military Shooting Center facilities. We also proved that we have the human resources to, together with the ISSF team, hold other international competitions such as the ISSF Final Olympic Qualification Championship Rifle / Pistol in April 2024, the last qualifier for the Paris Olympic Games”, celebrates the director, highlighting also media coverage and live broadcast of the competition finals on Team Brasil’s YouTube channel.

The president states that holding the ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol in Brazil for the second consecutive year was only possible thanks to the support and trust of federal bodies and entities and sponsors.
“The partnership with the Ministry of Sports, added to the support of the Brazilian Olympic Committee, the Brazilian Army, the Brazilian Doping Control Authority (ABCD), the Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos (CBC) and Via Connect Viagens e Turismo prove the trust that everyone has in CBTE and in our work”, he concludes.
