CONFEDERATION PRESIDENT HIGHLIGHTS “FAIR PLAY” AT THE OPENING CEREMONY.
The Opening Ceremony of the ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol Rio de Janeiro was held, this Sunday, with the presence of the Minister of Citizenship, Ronaldo Vieira Bento; the president of the Brazil Olympic Committee, Paulo Wanderley; Brigadier General Luiz Alberto Cureau Júnior; the president of the American Tire Confederation, Carlos Monterroso; ISSF Technical Director Willy Grill; in addition to athletes, coaches, managers, referees and members of the jury.
The president of the Brazilian Sport Shooting Confederation, Jodson Edington, highlighted in his speech the importance of holding the World Cup.
“The ISSF World Cup Rio de Janeiro is a milestone for my administration and for the Confederation. But its realization was only possible thanks to the support of the Brazil Olympic Committee. Therefore, my special thanks to President Paulo Vanderley. I also thank the Ministry of Citizenship and the Brazilian Army, responsible for these excellent facilities”, emphasized the leader. “I’m sure there will be no lack of fair play and friendship between the competitors here. May true sportsmanship prevail,” he added.
The ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol Rio de Janeiro is organized by the Brazilian Shooting Sport Confederation, with the support of the Brazil Olympic Committee, the Brazilian Army, the Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos, the Sellier&Bellot and the ECOS Turismo.
